The Donkey Show

7 pm – The Donkey Show: A Conversation
with curators Jim Heimann, Josh Kun and special guest author Bill Nericcio, at Track 16, across from the museum.
The Donkey Show in Project Room 1 is an audio-visual exploration of the intersection of myth and reality in Tijuana, focused on American expectations, misconceptions, and fantasies of Mexico; it features two different donkeys—one real, the other imaginary. A conversation with cultural anthropologist and graphic design historian Jim Heimann, author and music critic Josh Kun, and author Bill Nericcio (Tex[t]-Mex: Seductive Hallucinations of the ”Mexican” in America).

8 pmThe Donkey Show Party
in the SMMoA courtyard
Join us in a celebration of The Donkey Show with music by DJ Clorofila (from the Nortec Collective) and visuals by VJ CRO. Bring your camera and take a picture on our one-of-a-kind custom donkey cart by Gary Garay. Complimentary beverages provided.
